Afterlife Modern Radio Drama Episode 1: City of Angels

“The city of angels is an ironic nickname for a town with a reputation for being full to the brim with liars, fakes and a*$holes. Every year, thousands of people from all over the world immigrate to Los Angeles. Over fourteen-thousand people arrive every month to try to make their way, either in Hollywood or just to someplace with better weather.

Immigrants to Los Angeles give up their proximity to family—and in some cases spouses, children and lifelong friends—to pursue their dream of fame, wealth, or just a job that pays decent money. They sacrifice a lot just to get here. Some of them find their way; others get distracted in the din of life as a waiter at Boa and entirely forget that they came to Los Angeles to pursue an artistic career. And it’s these people who are the assholes.”

Caveat: The Mollyville Dystopian Audio Drama employs frank language and provocative themes. It is intended for a mature audience.

Dystopian societies appear in many artistic works, particularly in stories set in the future. Some of the most famous examples are 1984 and Brave New World. Dystopian societies appear in many subgenres of fiction and are often used to draw attention to real-world issues regarding society, environment, politics, economics, religion, psychology, ethics, science, and/or technology.
